Why not both? Or even all 3 (include VW) No one expects you to put all your eggs in one basket and as a business person I would never have myself tied up with only one company, its too easy for them to manipulate you.
I would like to see us with a portion to tesla, VW and Ford (maybe via SK innovations or Blueoval) with what we have seen in various tweets and articles I could see us having a very favorable book of clients.
