That is absolutely correct- Musk had NOTHING to do with the creativity and vision of Tesla. Those were all already in place by the time he bullied his way in.
But the more important thing to note, from an history perspective is this:
At the dawn of the automobile age, with the revolution of the internal combustion engine, it actually wasn't Ford or the 1900 other companies making some 3,000 types of gas-powered vehicles, that made a real fortune.
It was actually the oil companies, like Standard Oil, that made the real fortunes. They boomed into international corporations overnight.
And this history is repeating itself with the electric motor, and this time around we are in the right place, at the right time.
