I personally think flight centre is a dying business model. unsure about other punters but for me personally it's just so easy for me to look up and arrange my own trips. no need for a middle man, in my world anyway.
should add that I'm in my 40's and think this way. can only speculate but think the younger shoppers would possibly be more inclined and on to it enough to go direct and ditch paying someone to click a flight booking for them.
