It's completely ridiculous and it is really going to screw things up for future generations, not sure how they will be able to address the debt issue (and the economy will continue to go downhill until they do). I say politicians should be given a commission of a % of the national debt level. That means, when there's debt (represented as a negative figure) they are taxed based on the size of the debt, and when there's a surplus they are rewarded based on a % of that. As soon as it affects them they will all of a sudden become much better at managing the finances lol
