Even Banks have a loan to value ratio for each stock that is purchased with the Bank's participation.When markets drop as is the case now,the Banks have a right(that's the fine print you sign off against without reading).
Quite definitely whichever Bank/Institution (GS e.g.) has lent the shares to a client at xxxx rate will immediately escalate that lending rate -OR reclaim the lent shares .
It follows that shorters will be feeling the heat from both ends - THE BANKS AND THE MARKET. How nice! let them get a taste of the real fricking world like we do, instead of having a laugh and a free ride.
Simply put,if the Bank is chasing you day and night to force sell OR COUGH UP MORE CASH,quite a few who are overstretched will do so!!!!!!!
