Yes and no...PLL did not need to take up a 25% stake of SYA. Sure they got a good deal and all, but is it possible that they did so because they have a good relationship with Tesla.
My aussie way of thinking, "Hey SYA I know you guys are looking at NAL, we can probably have a chat with Tesla to make sure that you get this over the line", but we wouldn't mind a bit of cash, so how about you give us a few shares?"
This probably happened over a beer or two in my mind.
