To be honest though, they can continue to generate power via coal I couldn't care less.

I hope that attitude is in the minority however I do agree with you on EV's themselves they are a better vehicle by almost any measure except as you say for sound but the next generation won't be bought up with the sound of internal combustion engines so won't know what they're missing...

My parents grew up with the sound of horse hooves and the smell of horse sh$t on the streets, I grew up with steam engines and being covered in soot. Wonderfull machines but I wouldn't like it as a daily commute.
