Yep, my wife is Chinese as well and will be heading over in September.
Although known for much pollution forming activities, China is investing a huge amount of resources towards reducing this problem. I am not surprised about the number of EVs. They have a growing consumer base that can afford such luxuries and China has a strong desire to modernise and be fully self sufficient. They already have a number of areas that just blow away us Aussies when it comes to modern living areas and amenities. But there are also areas that are very poor.
