Canada doesn't have their eyes open. They are dragging ass. They haven't given Sayona any money, haven't done anything about the carbonate plant which should quite literally be a matter of national security.
China is a belligerent, not a friendly. If they can find a way to shut down exporting battery grade lithium without hurting themselves too much, they will.
