constantly innovating via the prof at binghamton lab. gen 1, gen 2, gen 3, solid state. depends on the market for them - who want what - which application, price. so far they have id'd a large market for gen 1 and 2 which is BMLMP, sitting between NCM and LFP, with better profiles on many aspects. they made a ssb in 2018 (almost solid). they are light years ahead. some papers will tell you other companys investing billions in r&d, or have discovered xyz. that takes years to test and bring to commercial. we are there with most, and almost for ssd. the difference is manufacturing at scale and future proofing. we can just tweak a few settings and produce any gen and ssd on the same line. a lot of companies retrofitting existing factories cannot. building from the ground up is awesome. this ev revolution and battery production is highly technical and a sterile working environment as opposed to existing ice factories with huge legacy costs and staffing. its going to be interesting.
