Plenty of online brokers can be used for TSX or TSXV trading. IG TADING , INTERACTIVE BROKERS, ETORO. I personally use Comsec as I've used them for decades. Taxation can be daunting at first, but there are Taxation treaties with Canada, however you will need an account. You'll also have currency risk that you need to be aware of, but it's reasonably stable. If I was just starting out and considering investing in foreign companies ideally you'd want 100k to start. If you didn't have that kind of money then you could invest say 10k but I'd only invest in high quality income producing moderate growth type companies for the long term say 10+ years. Or if you had an even smaller amount then foreign ETF'S are attractive enough to get you started. If your young the dollar cost averaging into a good quality ETF would be the way to go IMO. I wish there were ETF'S around when I was young.
