Suba-Itraconazole is available as Tolsura or Lozanoc depending on the region for anti-fungal applications. The big difference between the two brands is the dosing size, 65mg in the US for one capsule to be equivalent to approximately two of the innovator.
Hedgepath (now Inhibitor) were looking at suba-itraconazole for it's ability to inhibit the 'hedgehog' pathway which is meant to limit the growth of some cancers and they were specifically looking at Basal Cell Carcinoma. I think it's still at 2b phase because there are not as many opportunities to get patients registered for the trial.
So now they are expanding into prostate and lung cancer using the initial studies as the platform.
Halcygen Pharma purchased the Mayne Pharma SA site and brand from Hospira back in the day (2010?) for the Itraconazole possibilities;Its taken a long time to get to here.
