Almost anyone could launch a takeover bid for Mayne right now and probably succeed, at least insofar as the retail proportion of the vote is concerned. Such is the level of disdain for the board & management by shareholders who would likely disregard their advice and voting recommendation. It would be the friendliest hostile takeover in history!
