With all the words that look and sound the same as those used in others, like the Oxford, English, Cambridge, Collins, Webster's, etc - but seem to have a different meaning.

Maybe they already do, but only CEO's and Chief Executives have access to it !

Especially when words like 'Imminent' for example, seem to be bandied about with reckless abandon by Companies these days who have No idea of the True meaning, but should ! Who obviously don't own an English Dictionary, let alone know how to use it or use Google to check the correct meaning before attaching / using it in any correspondence or price sensitive announcements ! As i'm sure if we could have a sneek peek inside one, there would most likely be a picture of a Carrot held in front of a Donkey, with the meaning, to take as long as you like, years if necessary, as carrots are cheap

As you say, for most if not all, "it's taken on a whole different meaning in our vernacular"

Howdy Frank, I hope all is well mate.

Let’s hope some of our contracts or license agreements are now imminent. It’s only been a year or two since they said the tenting deal will be after Christmas, but I think they got me on that one because they never said which Christmas.
Let’s hope they COTTON on to the real meaning of imminent.
