Patent applications aren't immediately published. The USPTO, like other patent offices globally, generally have a rule to publish a patient application around 18 months after the first findings.

This is a totally normal process. And there are plenty of exceptions to these rules. Sometimes patents get published much earlier or much later.

Bottom line: Until a patent is published, it's not published. And you won't be able to find it in any patent search. Makes sense?

By the way, some products are brought to the market before the pending patent is granted.
