I mentioned a few weeks ago that I would be surprised if entities have not been massively accumulating the last few weeks during the downturn. This afternoons large trade could simply be the vehicle of transfering this accumulation to a US investor.
Funds and insto's don't just hit the line and buy all the shares in one hit they accumulate over days, weeks and months. This looks like a classic example of a broker doing this on behalf of a large investor, fund or insto over the last month or longer
