Without having the data in front of me, I'd say its a culmination of things, like it always is in the markets.

The short positions are clearly a strategy, this in turn panics the short term holders, which in turn panics the one's who are not invested in the company, which in turn panics the flippers and so on and so on.

I'm really interested to see the wash up when all the data becomes available.

To be honest though, Even as a long long term holder and as an investor who believes this BOD has what it takes and the product to match, for my tastes its still a bit overvalued in the high 40's. Even with a proof of concept trial in the bag this is still biotech world, where the strange is just a normal day.

I must admit though its interesting to read all the various commentary and the theories on here, also to see which posters are able to separate emotion from reality...
