I think you are looking at sector market cycles - the market can be very irrational and tends to return to the average. Sector players tend to get tarred by the same brush or boosted by it. Look at Lithium - is that an overbought market? (IMO it is) Is Bio an oversold market? (IMO it is) Then comes the inevitable sector rotation.
