I'll give it a crack.

They paid overs for something they're not putting money into.

There was a massive dilution and none of the board took up the opportunity to throw their money in.

In a nutshell. It was a weird move that doesn't seem to make any sense.

'Trust me' doesn't cut it I'm afraid.
