Well, depending on one's bent, one sees political grandstanding in either hydroxychloroquine promotion for covid, or denial of the hoped-for benefits.
The mania of our times has made it very difficult for some people to be objective about this, but the means of such objectivity still exist: the scientific method. All well-designed studies to date indicate hydroxychloroquine does not work as a treatment, or as a prophylactic, against covid19.

I'm also puzzled as to the conspiratorial bent that causes some people to believe the FDA is somehow out to get Trump by revoking the emergency use authorisation of hydroxychloroquine for treating covid19. They did this based on the evidence. For some folks, it seems whenever anyone opposes Trump on anything: they can't possibly be right, and must be out to get him. It couldn't possibly be Trump engaging in baseless, wishful thinking, be it about covid19 being cured by hydroxychloroquine, or miraculously disappearing, or massive election fraud he seems incapable of getting any court in the country to validate evidence of, not even with judges he himself appointed.

Although HCQ has not been found to reduce mortality on its own, this is separate from any reduction in mortality IHL-675a may bring about through a potential relief from SAARDS causal factors. We don't have to hang our hopes of IHL-675a efficacy on politicised information sources concerning HCQ. Wishful thinking is not helpful.
