Agreed mate - have a peek here - ( I haven't been idle lol ) CRP biomarker seems the most available and appropriate at this point - seems to clearly indicate the wider application you point to - obvious connection between the cytokine production associated with sepsis associated adult respiratory distress syndrome - IHL 675A ....the blood borne / cell related seem far less indicative and much harder to isolate for analysis and definitive outcomes.
