Agree re profit taking, but worth noting that we also get Bots that pip up and down at the closing auction frequently painting a price point that is a false picture of the real buy/sell dynamic. You can see them flipping prices around, seemingly for a "closing price" outcome or an offset on a lot of stocks and often don't trade into the actual bid/ask much, or at all. So worth bearing in mind on any stocks you hold to asses the situation.
Frequently they are disconnected from the VWAP of the day but it can paint a trap for chartists who just look at the closing price. Not sure why the ASX allows these computer generated Bots to be used by market players. A disservice to genuine investors. Just beware.
