The Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt says the first marijuana treatment - for epilepsy - will be listed on the taxpayer-subsidized Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme.

In a media release, Mr Hunt said that from May 1, 2021 Australians with Dravet syndrome will have access to Epidyolex and cannabidiol when used in combination with at least two other anti-epileptic drugs.

This is a significant milestone and very exciting for the medicinal cannabis space in Australia - especially for companies like IHL that are involved in novel drug development to treat indications for which is there is no existing treatment.
