The new covid variant has been detected on two travelers in Sydney. Both were fully vaccinated and apparently showed no symptoms.

Those who have been detected with the new variant have shown mild to no symptoms which kind of tells you that the current
vaccines are doing their job.

Seems to be a "knee jerk" reaction to this new variant and understandably it raises the usual precautionary concerns.

675A is well poised to become an effective treatment for SARS (amongst other things). It will have the ability to treat all variants.

Not sure if we have acquired approval from the ethics committee regarding the phase 1 clinical trial protocols. Maybe a poster
can enlighten the thread as to its current position.

To my understanding, once the ethics committee has granted approval then phase 1 clinical trials will almost certainly begin.

This approval should not be too far away.
