Sure is some interesting history behind Mt Gibson and Golden Grove.
I can see now why there is belief that Mt Gibson may be a Golden Grove analogue.
Legend Mining didn't explore Mt Gibson a great deal and sought the expertise and financial power of Oxiana to assist with a JV Farm In. This is from their 2008 AGM preso.

The timing was not good - particularly for Oxiana.
Base metals plummeted in 2008 and their merger with Zinifex resulted in a class action along with crippling debt levels for the newly merged entity OZ Minerals. The share price was in free fall and the creditors came knocking. (The US credit crisis of 08) OZ Minerals had to liquidate many assets including Golden Grove. Wayne Swan (treasurer at the time) intervened to stop the sale of Prominent Hill (against Australian interests) and obviously the Legend JV fell by the wayside. Enter Owen Hegarty OAM.
Owen was the founder of Oxiana and grew it from a small explorer to a multi billion $ producer it once was predominantly on the back of Golden Grove. Not sure when or if he left OZ Minerals - and also I am prone to trailing off on irrelevant tangents - so I'll leave that for you guys to find out.
The 5 holes yielded the following:

So what happened to Golden Grove?
    Re-enter Owen Hegarty OAM
It went to the Chinese but seems Owen wasn't finished there just yet.
Owen Chairs 29 Metals (29M) which listed in July 2021 and controls the Golden Grove once again. The T20 hold over 94% of 29M.....
Here's a few of their recent drilling intercepts from Golden Grove which seem to intercept zinc mineralisation around the same depth as Barrick's efforts at Mt Gibson. Perhaps Oxiana's $1.2m program stopped a little short? Intentionally perhaps? Maybe just financial or too many irons in the fire at the time.

Well I found it interesting anyway.
And if you're still reading this congratulations on sticking with my chaotic summary of events and posting style.
Maybe Owen will come to revisit unfinished business at Mt Gibson in the future.
Maybe once we have taken all the Au above 400m 29M may like to purchase the project for base metals. Would save them some drilling depth. It's all speculation of course.
    Cheerio
