10 day forecast (bottom figure) has 0mm falling out west to Isa. All 3 main models showing no rain at Isa.
So worse case, they keep mining and drying and stockpiling phosphate.
Possible concerns could be flooding between Isa and the coast, up to 250-400mm could fall, which might disrupt the rail line. 10 day forecast usually not accurate, all depends where the TC then Low pressure ends up moving to and how long it hangs around.
One model shows not a significant amount of rain inland with the low pushing south and not dumping much rain. Others show it hanging around. WIll have a clearer idea by Thursday or Friday about the possible rainfall totals and any flooding.
Same with any TC, at the moment modelling is lining up to cross Townsville on Thursday, but they're uppredictable and often change strength, path and the speed at which they move. Will have a much better idea where it may make landfall by Wednesday.
In saying that, if I lived in Townsville or any of the areas inland, I'd be preparing now for the worst.
