My understanding is that the edge of the low pressure system has already moved upon Mt Isa and the question is how much of that moisture has been and will be dropped beforehand.
The mine is halfway between Mt Isa and Boulia, and quarter of the way from Mt Isa to Birdsville. It looks like it has missed most of the rain so far.
However, even if it cops a 100mm it would be much less than last March and there is no pit to flood either.
Port of Townsville is also back to normal this morning.
