I’m pretty fresh so excuse me if this has been discussed but does anyone have any views on this statement from their last quarterly…


Why would the company even mention this unless their may be a potential option going forward?
Now take this with a grain of salt as I’m mug punter but this phosphate game is a bulk tonnage business and logistics are a huge overhead.. So my (layman) mind automatically thinks anything bulk tonnage from overseas can’t be from too far away to make it viable…
Then I remember Robert Mencel worked for
Ronphos on the island of Nauro… Which to my knowledge internationally speaking has to be one of the nearest phosphate jurisdictions on the map..

So I started looking into what’s going on there. Being a private company details are pretty vague yet I did realise this country had quite the boom bust ride on the back of phosphate mining. And in my opinion, again with vague insights I was left thinking this company atm is quite the shit show (and potentially a prime target for someone who may know it and it’s stakeholders intimately)

Apparently ~100million tonnes have been mined. And product has been waning considerably over time… But with new technology secondary mining could unlock more value (apparently 20m more tonnes). The link below is from 4 yrs ago so again pinch of salt (or phosphate
