Hi Seb,
As WhatsTheTip posted, there are advances not only re silicone but many other variations of trying to make a better anode.
What is absolutely clear and agreed on by almost all experts is that if/once a new process makes it out of the lab stage and into pilot plant wich will be very low kg capacity runs...it will take a good decade before it makes it into mass production OEM used EV batteries. During this time highly reliable and continuously tweaked tech such as LFB batteries will get to a price point where it will be very very hard for any new tech to take a foothold ie take major market share, I have no doubt there will be multiple battery compositions with different Anode/Cathodes, but the demand for battery cells will be so large that there will not be a shortage of customers for Co's such as EGR.
IMO the main reason current tech Batteries, especially LFP will be the dominant players due to the simple fact of 'economies of scale' -- the sheer production capacity Co's such as TESLA, BYD and CATLAN will have within the next 2 years running 24/7 needing significant amounts of Graphite...and that is only from those 3 companies I have mentioned...I have also mentioned many times in the past that Europe and in particular Germany is still asleep at the wheel, CVID gave them a bit of a wake-up shake, bur Russia has finally given them a nice firm slap followed by bucket full of ice cold water, now they are fully awake
We will see significant spending, both in the US and the EU and EGR is perfectly positioned to be involved with multiple EcoGraf Puricication and Recycling Hubs close to major EV facilities both in the US an EU, the will all need secure strong supplies of tried and tested materials, no time for decade long testing, otherwise we will all be driving TESLAS or a Chinese EV -- EU and US need to get mass production started last year!!
So I do expext very strong and urgent activity and deals signed in the battery space...in EGR's case -- once Epanko is signed off -- it will become very interesting.
And we all need to remember EV's will not be the only high demand sector on Batteries...Battery Storage will be absolutely huge.
And then there is India, Africa, Asia, Middle East ----- EGR available for .20c --- How long will the Big Buyers wait --- many Millionaires could be made if everything falls into place --- again, How long will the Big Buyers wait ---
