"People don't want EV's and that's a fact"
Actually, its NOT a fact but simply an opinion! If people don't want EVs then there would not be sales of any EVs at this juncture. According to this Reuters article, your statement is simply not true:-
The fact is that global EV sales continue to increase, albeit at a slower pace. The fact is that EV sales of cheaper Chinese-made cars are up and doing very well. And, in certain parts of the world, sales are seeing consecutive rises. Plug-in hybrids are up 70% in China. So, lets face facts, electrification is here to stay.

.
There is no denying that the EV revolution (IN THE WEST) from a manufacturing perspective is reliant on Govt subsidies. And, if the West is willing to relinquish the economic power and financial benefit of having a part of the EV industrial space, then it will abandon Govt subsidies and let China continue to dominate it. Do you seriously think that is going to happen?
Manufacturers are, of course, going to make their own decisions based on their bottom-line. This is actually what Volvo still plans to do:-

As for Toyota, they were never completely on board from the start, since they envisaged a natural pullback in the nascent industry.

Time will tell as to how the EV revolution onfolds. One fact is that it has made a very good foothold that won't see it wither by the way side as you would hope, Stevo. As for targeting EGR for your anti-EV opinion, why weren't you here at the height of the hype but instead choose now when the SP has already been smashed? I hope its not a case of taking joy in the misery of others.
