Apparently CATL have made a significant breakthrough with Sodium Ion Batteries and some analysts are predicting that the batteries will within a decade be substantially lower in price than Lithium Ion. Significantly they do not require graphite. As time goes on and chemistry changes we do run the risk of becoming somewhat obsolete.
