Their announcement goes on to say:
Renascor intends to use its purification technology to create a competitive advantage in the production of high-quality, 100% Australian-made PSG with leading ESG3 credentials in the first integrated in-country mine and battery anode material operation outside of China.
The results of the current purification trials will be used for detailed engineering design for construction of Renascor’s planned manufacturing facility in South Australia, as well as to support on-going offtake and finance discussions.
Does that mean they are planning to copy the same business model as EGR, and implement a recycling/filtration/purification plant ?
I dont think its a cause for concern for EGR - because RNU is atleast 2 years away (if ever successful of raising the required funds ~$200M) to actually begin to construct their mine. Let alone to start mining / producing / purification etc.
I think they have a history of missing deadlines / promising things that dont end up happening
For the record: EGR is years ahead of any competitor and if i had to take a punt on a winner i'd choose EGR

Im just not that comfortable with the Tanz graphite mine (that hasnt had any progress for years). IMO they should just focus on the recycling / purification part of the business and they can source graphite from anyone.
But then again, if that's the case - a player like RNU (if they eventually actually deliver their promises in the years to come) would have a competitive advantage, having in-house graphite mine + in-house purification.
Prior to this, i was thinking EGR could even source Australian graphite from RNU and purify it.
