As of 16th April 2025, the European Union's Net-Zero Industry Act (NZIA) permits the designation of Strategic Projects located outside the EU, provided they are "mutually beneficial" to both the EU and the third country involved.However, to date, no such projects outside the EU have been officially designated under the NZIA.
