The purification of graphite concentrates to anode-grade levels without use of HF is not particularly high-tech. Graphite is chemically inert and doesn't pose much difficulty. There was just no incentive for Chinese SPG producers to depart from the existing model - with western companies looking to get in on the act in the prevailing green movement, now there is. The flowsheets of EGR, RNU and Urbix are likely very similar.

I agree with @Shellbell, purities in excess of the 99.95% benchmark will confer little to no advantage and feedstock concentrate has no direct bearing on ultimate SPG purity. Of course, higher flake concentrate grades allows for reduced waste transportation and lesser reagent consumption in processing = cost savings. Exactly right on the competition aspect too - as long as EGR and RNU are both able to secure feedstock supply and offtake agreements, there respective supply chains are unrelated. The demand spike will easily accommodate multiple new entities.

@SugeKnight, your company comparisons are fair and I agree with your thoughts on Tanzania. I doubt RNU will look to enter the anode recycling sphere any time soon - a partnership is vital in obtaining access to commercial quantities of used batteries in real-world facilities, such as the EGR-SungEel collaboration.
