How is it scary if LLL is at 60 cents and FFX at 40 cents post merger for example? It's not.
Yes FFX dropped whatever, but LLL makes up the balance - so the net position is unchanged.
Though keep in mind the whole raitonale for the demerger is to extract more value for SHs.

I'm not in a position to give any fin advice, but I think you are looking at it thinking it's one way somehow, but it's another.


Personally I'll consider selling the stock not in my SMSF when both companies have reached their potential - and that won't be now, or even next year. Others may have goals that are more ST if they see better growth prospects elsewhere. But geeze, let me know if you find anything as good, with just execution risk left to worry about.
