Except... if you buy or sell shares on the ASX on Friday 3-June or Mon 6-June - you will be buying/selling under contract for Ex-Bonus shares as the ASX has stated. ALL ASX trades after 3-June are on an EX-Bonus(/Entitlement) basis - regardless of what the share register may show. And will have to be settled accordingly... This is different to the normal course of events as the ASX has to allow their brokers T+2 settlement - so they have decided that all trades before 3-June are CB and all on or after 3-June will be for XB shares.
Under the legal contract with your broker to buy/sell FFX on 3-June - you can only sell/buy FFX shares on an XB basis. It then all gets sorted out at the registry (and this is why the company is taking nearly 3 weeks to issue the shares - to resolve all these book-keeping claims!!)
Just follow the ASX (who set the rules for trading on the sharemarket) rather than your CommSec or NabTrade broker. The broker has to abide by the ASX rules - despite what he thinks he knows...
