The news out of Accra is that they (ECOWAS) could not reach 'agreement' on sanctions 'especially on Mali'. The decision has been postponed until 3rd July. There has been no official communique yet from ECOWAS but news has filtered out through other channels, like France news 24 , maliweb etc etc.
ECOWAS are also considering further sanctions against Guinea and Burkina Faso who are currently suspended from ECOWAS. The official communique will have more information so best wait to see who voted for and against the proposal to lift sanctions. So for now the status quo is maintained and we operate with the workarounds that we have successfully in place.
