They are already a different class of shares and would have a different code. I hold some shares in escrow, and shares in companies yet to go to IPO. They all show up in my share registry account as a different code. The shares in registry do not show up in my trading account but are in the share registry account. That is how I am prevented from trading them. It is not a gentlemen's agreement.
