The Junta locking up people for even the mildest criticism.
Mali simply isn't the same place now we originally invested in, the one with 25 years of successful mining industry.
The Imam Dicko mentioned toward the end of report below is the most prominent figure in the country outside the Junta's leader. Him being declared hostile to authorities might bring things to a head soon...
If we had a peaceful regime change it would obviously help our cause, but it's hard to see what will happen and how it all ends atm.
Bandjougou Traoré was placed under a detention order after being
presented to the prosecutor at the cybercrime cluster in Mali, African
media reported.Pending
his trial scheduled for 7 March, he is now the new boarder of the
Bamako Central Prison. He is being prosecuted for “incitement to
violence” and for having “disturbing public order remarks,” says the
African News Agency (APA).His
arrest followed a recent preaching in which he criticized a festival
held in the Kayes region by saying that this "summer could be used to
rehabilitate the road rather than waste it", reports the same source. The
Imam Bandjougou Traoré recently became famous during another preaching
where it was criticizing the current energy crisis in Mali and not
sparing the capital Bamako, which has been experiencing endless power
cuts for some time, says the same source. The Malian League of Imams and scholars for Islamic solidarity has not yet reacted to this. The
placement under the mandate of the Imam Bandjougou Traoré comes less
than a month after that of another religious leader in this case Chouala
Bayaya Haidara. Pursued for “infringing the credit of the State and a
statement to disturb public order”, the trial of the latter is scheduled
for 12 March.Some
sources had also suggested that even Imam Mahmoud Dicko, who was
declared hostile to the authorities, especially after his meeting with
the Algerian President, would hardly escape a questioning on his return
from Algiers, according to the APA.

hmmm I'm not sure he was arrested for mild criticism of the Junta but then charged with inciting violence and public order offences, think you've tried simplifying it a little mate.
