AR3 gets a number of mentions by Dr Diana Zivak. Her analytical understanding and background will be valuable as the rare earths industry matures in South Australia.

My key take away message is that when it comes to any rare earths project, every potential new find is unique and will need to stand up on its own, especially metallurgical processing.

A few notes while listening (paraphrased):

• In Australia, grades can vary a lot which is why it is not a good indication of what is economic. One of the reasons why cut-off grades can vary too.
• Koopamurra is a clay-hosted deposit like no other. It is sitting on limestone and not formed insitu like many others are. That's what makes it an entirely different beast altogether. Enriched rare earth clays were obviously transported from the surrounding regions and now sit on the basement structure of the limestone. This controlled 'wet' interaction then precipitated to created a secondary formation within the structures which is where the rare earths sit now – nature has done a lot of the work.
• BHP has the biggest reserves of rare earths in Australia but its currently too complex to economically source at this point in time.
• We need someone to invest in the downstream processing. AR3 is the only one doing a small trial at the moment.
