Nice deposit, and the acid consumption and met pathways look like its all technically possible, right up until the point where the SA state minister over-rides the advice of their Dept of Mines & Resources and prevents the mining license from being granted. Just as happened to the owners of the Bird in Hand gold mine in SA. The precedent has been recently set, no approvals for new mining operations in wine growing regions.
Rare earths are weird in Australia that any projects with suitable metallurgy/extraction pathways are likely to be killed off by local NIMBYism and anything with difficult economics and met pathways can be approved but will have the remote location and extraction pathway hurdles to overcome.
If I could see a clear pathway to permitting and approval from either VIC or SA state government then I would be interested.
