These kind of after market trades were in few asx stocks with pls among them , nothing sinister…
ESS has a weak base register with top 20 only holding 20% and will face a problem if a t/o happens soon.
I mentioned this to Tim and his response was this :

“With regards to the share register, ESS (and PIO) has been around for nearly 20 years and as recently as 18 months ago had a market cap below <$15m. This factors make it very difficult to atttract larger shareholders onto the register but this will likely change as we advance the project.”


Going back to that late trade today , could be a fund rebalance from any of those highlighted in blue :
