(hopefully) it would seem the market recognises that ANZ's $5 billion takeover of NBNZ will do nothing more than reinstate ANZ to a market share position it had about 10 years ago.
In the last 10 years, the ANZ bank in NZ has managed to whittle away their market share through pi....ing off customers, to the extent they changed banks.

management incompetence at ANZ now has a quantifiable price - $5 billion - to buy back market share they sent packing.
