Thats what's I believe is an interstage screen hanging from the gantry crane generally found between leach tanks, so as the slurry flows from the 1st tank to the last, the carbon doesn't go with it as the carbon flow is from last to 1st. The screens also maintain proper flow & retention times to maximize the adsorption of gold onto the carbon.
Screens need periodic cleaning particularly if the flow is being restricted by clogged screen mesh.
Looks like plant #2, so probably just an operational procedure.
