Akara needs a GM not just a mining manager. The stakeholder issues are paramount.
Like most big companies, Newcrest's AISC is a function of good M&A and shared corporate costs, not necessarily quality management i.e. they buy assets that are idiot proof, and share the corporate overhead. So Cadia for example is an amazing asset, and its made money in spite of the GM. Newcrest had a bully culture, which won't go down well in Thailand. If you hurt someone's feelings in Australia you might miss a few days of production, but if you hurt someone's feelings in Thailand you might end up without a mining operation again.
So again, I won't be going near this until I know who's leading the operation.
