Defaults will increase but the recoverability of debt typically reduces. In my view the new business is offset by the decrease in recoverability. I've read educated opinions that have been very compelling in their contrasting views on whether interest rate increases improve the bottom line, or not. Sentiment towards the collections business as an investment definitely improves.
