It's not "hard-earned" though, is it? It'd be investment income.
To live in a first world country, people need to pay first world taxes. A point that's been completely lost on most - hence the country heading down the sh*tter fast as taxes fall. Thus reliant on importing humans at a massive rate to try and balance the books - and failing miserably to maintain previous living standards.
