As much as I don’t like it, it doesn’t seem an outrageous leap for Mali officials to raise an eyebrow at overlapping people in key roles, shifting of assets to one company with some overlapping ownership while leaving debts with the other etc. only for the parent company to then almost immediately cease funding and look to walk away from in-country liabilities of its subsidiary.

basically zero chance a local would do such a thing for a foreign employer.

and even if such a thing was to be done, it would be after things went awry at Morila.
such a thing would never be done if Morila was a stable going concern.
Goulamina had no and has no need for additional funds especially not illegal monies.
