As in, it will be interesting to see how both Mali and Senegal are treated, although with those articles it is apparent that the junta will pay no attention to ECOWAS directives.

Mali's junta lead government, although agreeing to a February election, have postponed it - without a scheduled date.
Senegal's democratic elected government, have cancelled the elections that were due on the 15th February and rescheduled to mid December.

Contrasting differences in how the populations of the respective countries have reacted.
~ Malians appear to be very happy with the junta lead government, and just as happy about leaving ECOWAS, and even more happier that the have formed the AES Alliance.
Senegalese reacted with rioting and civil unrest, with calls of it being undemocratic, which is in contrast of Senegal long history of democracy.

I am also interested in what impact the AES Alliance will have on ECOWAS's hold on the region, with those 3 AES states and Guinea also suspended, leaves 11 states remaining and now Senegal have broken constitution protocols ..... there is a shift away from democratic rule?
~ don't get me wrong, I don't particularly agree with it but it sure is making the Malians happy, unless those that don't agree have all be put in jail?

The recent moves from Mali - Burkina and Niger, to form probably a federated state in the long run, seems likely to be just the start of geopolitical changes in the African continent, IMO.

If we play our cards right, this could give us (LLL) some fantastic opportunities in the region...
