Telsa is one company and half their cars dont use REE anyway. They produce a very small amount of the global market with dreams of 20mpa. Not going to happen for some time. Many car companies need REE for range. Looks like a deficit for years regardless. Its used in batteries and motors. Someone owns that patent, so most car companies may not get access to it anyway. Broad-brush statements by CEO's are not uncommon. Its also not uncommon for things not to happen. This also means that its all about the grade and no radioactive crap. If Lynas gets the boot out of Malaysia short term, or until they get the Kal plant up and running, then thats a chunk of REE not going into the market overnight. They said similar things about supply side issues with lithium. The stocks came off and then exploded when reality hit. Dozens of uses outside magnets. Many car companies will continue to use it and we are yet to see the motor. dyor
